The luau is held at the beautiful Mauna Lani, Auberge Resort at Kalāhuipuaʻa, which is a historical area where ancient Hawaiians mastered the art of aquaculture and where King Kamehameha came to recuperate and work in the fishponds. Guests are welcomed with a traditional Oli (chant) in preparation for preliminary activities with the cast. What To Expect
Hale Hoaloha Luau at the Mauna Lani
The Hale Hoaloha Lūʻau is a celebration of the beauty and stories of the land area known as Kalāhuipuaʻa.
Considered the “piko” (center) of the majestic mountains of Haleakalā, Kohala, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hualālai, the Mauna Lani is a special place to all who have the privilege of enjoying its beauty. Traditionally, lūʻaus are important family celebrations with a feast of favorite foods, sharing of moʻolelo (story telling), mele (music) and hula. Hale Hoaloha Lūʻau brings together all of these while sharing Mauna Laniʻs majestic history and the true essence of aloha, ʻohana (family) and kuleana (responsibility) with everyone in attendance.
