What To Expect
Kona Inn Shopping Village
Built on ancients grounds, the Kona Inn was responsible for ushering in the era of tourism in Kona. The site was formerly home to King Kamehameha II and is known as “papa’ula” or “red flats” as there may have been human sacrifice here as well. End the tour with a cleansing sage smudge at the new Big Island Ghost Tours booth.

Hulihe’e Palace
Will the ghostly “lady in white” of the palace show herself again? Was it Pele, or Princess Kaiulani? We’ve witnessed her on tour once before…and then she disappeared!

Mokuaikaua Church
The lava rock cornerstones of Hawaii’s very first Christian church were formerly part of an ancient Hawaiian temple, built hundreds of years in the past. This newly introduced religion eventually led to events that are considered Hawaii’s civil war and the end of the ancient Kapu system.
